Breaking Bond Part XXVI: Skyfall

On February 24, 2013, after three tries over 50 years – the fourth time proved to be the charm as Adele took home the Academy Award for Best Song. 

In fact, ‘Skyfall’, EON Productions 23rd James Bond film, would take home two Oscars that evening confirming what Bond audiences already knew – 50 years after Dr. No nobody had ever seen anything quite like this film. 

With echoes of  ‘The Last Samurai’, ‘Penny Dreadful’, and even ‘The Crown’…‘Skyfall’ stands alone, not only in the Daniel Craig Bond films but across the entire franchise. 

Did you know that Academy Award director Sam Mendes had to be recruited and convinced by Bond himself, Danial Craig? 

Did you know Javier Bardem learned the entire script in his native language Spanish to insure he could give the performance he wanted? 

And did you also know that before Albert Finney signed on to play Kincade, Skyfall’s Scottish gamekeeper, another familiar Scotsman, A Man From Edinburgh almost got the role?

So, let’s say hello to some old friends Ms. Moneypenny and Q as well as some new one’s – Is that Tom Riddle?
